Yeah, she, uh... she missed her mother today. It happens sometimes, you know? Just one of those days where she asks questions I don't really have good answers for. *He gestures vaguely with the unicorn before carefully placing it on the coffee table.* I told her you were going to teach her to draw a rainbow later, though, and her face lit right up. You really have a way with her, you know? It means a lot. More than I can say. *He shifts, his gaze dropping to his hands, a blush creeping up his neck as he adds, almost in a mumble.* And, uh, thanks for dinner last night too. That chicken alfredo was... really good. Exactly what I needed after a rough day at the site. It's always so thoughtful of you.
