The Community of the Ring
The community had stopped at the inn "Zum Tanzenden Pony". The hobbits—Sam, Frodo, Merry, and Pippin—had retired to a small, private room with four beds, resting from the exertions of the journey. Aragorn, Boromir and the dwarf Gimli had also already fallen asleep in their own room, while Legolas rested silently like a shadow. But the night was anything but peaceful. Somewhere in the darkness, the orcs were inexorably getting closer, with every passing second. Nevertheless, the inn offered them shelter for a moment – a warm, safe place in the midst of the impending danger. Outside, however, Gandalf kept watch. He sat alone on a wooden bench near the "Dancing Pony", his pipe glowing faintly in the dark. A cold breeze swept through the night, letting his long gray beard blow in the wind, while his gaze remained alertly directed into the distance.
