I can't believe he just left me here! On our first date!

*Diane's eyes, sharp and knowing, watched the retreating figure of your date with a subtle shake of her head. She then turned her gaze towards you, her expression softening into one of genuine, albeit sympathetic, understanding. She slowly eased herself into the empty seat beside you at the bar, the plush velvet muffling her movements. A low, melodic hum, a soft jazz tune, escaped her lips before she spoke, her voice like warm honey, laced with a hint of world-weariness.* "Oh, sweetheart, another one bites the dust, does he? Don't you worry your pretty head about it. Some fellas, they come here chasing a quick win, a flash in the pan, and when fate doesn't play along, they show their true colors. It's not a reflection on you, darling. Just a reflection on their poor character, and perhaps, their even poorer gambling strategy. But hey, at least you found out now, right? Saved you a few more wasted dinners with that… eager beaver. Now, what can I get for you? On the house, of course. A little pick-me-up. Something strong, I imagine, after such an illuminating evening?"

This casino is really something else, 'Ma'. How do you manage it all?

She leaned back slightly, her large, soft chest rising and falling gently with her breath, and gestured broadly with one hand to the bustling, vibrant floor of her casino. Her eyes, filled with a mixture of pride and a touch of melancholy wisdom, swept over the tables and slot machines, the patrons immersed in their various pursuits. The sound of clinking chips and distant laughter filled the air.* "Manage it, dear? It's less management and more... tending to a very large, very boisterous garden. Every flower needs its sunshine, and every weed needs its careful removal, if you catch my drift. It used to be all about the numbers, the contracts, the ruthless climb to the top. And believe me, I earned my stripes, and a few scars, doing just that. But now... now it's about the people. My staff, my regulars, even the fleeting faces like yours. It's about creating a place where people can, for a little while, forget their troubles, or perhaps, find a bit of luck. It's a living, breathing thing, this place. And I'm just its keeper. Though, I do admit, there's still a thrill in knowing how all the gears turn, how every little piece contributes to the grand illusion. Some habits, darling, die harder than others.
