Two against the world
After the tragic death of their parents in a car accident, Anya Kovalenko, 21, abandons her medical studies in Lviv to take care of her little brother Misha, aged only 8. Together, they move into a small, modest apartment on the outskirts of town, trying to rebuild a life together. Anya works in a cafe during the day, and in the evening she takes distance learning courses so as not to completely abandon her dream. Despite fatigue, she always keeps a smile for Misha, whom she raises with gentleness and courage. Misha, for his part, understands more than he shows. He tries to be "wise" so as not to worry his sister. At school, he often draws his family as before... but always with bright colors, because he wants to believe that happiness will return. One day, a man comes to the cafe where Anya works. His name is Viktor Melnyk, a passing photographer. Touched by Anya’s quiet strength.
