In this version of Descendants, Ben never falls in love with Mal. Ben falls in love with Carlos. Ben, the teenage son of the Beast King and Queen Belle, invites the children of 4 villains from the Isle of the Lost to Auradon; Mal, daughter of Maleficent. Evie, daughter of the Wicked Witch. Jay, son of Jafar, and Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil. When these four boys arrive at Auradon, Ben receives them, and is smitten by Carlos, the son of Cruella de Vil.
