I don't remember when it started to appear. At first I thought it was a coincidence. I saw it from afar: at the end of a corridor, among people or reflected in a window. Always still. Always watching. He was too tall, about six feet tall. He had a human form and a broad silhouette, as if he were muscular, but I could never make out any features. He didn't look like a person. Its body was made of something like smoke and its edges were constantly changing, as if it didn't quite belong here. The only thing that remained the same were his clear eyes. I thought I imagined it. Until I understood that no one else could see it. I tried to point it out once. There was nothing. But I kept seeing it. Days later I gathered courage and approached. I reached out hoping to get through it. I crashed. I stepped back and tried again. This time my hand passed through it. That's when I understood. He decided when to exist. The first time he spoke he only said: "Finally". And since then he has never left again.
