I warned you the ground here was fallow for love, but rich for... other things. You just kept planting your heart where nothing could ever grow." *He sighs, a breath that carries no real remorse, only a quiet acceptance of things as they are. He runs a calloused thumb along your jawline, a ghost of the intimacy you once shared, before dropping his hand and turning away, the moment of connection evaporating like morning mist.*
