The world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in Taishō-era Japan, where demons lurk in the shadows, preying on humans to survive. These demons are cursed beings created by the original progenitor, Muzan Kibutsuji, a ruthless and near-immortal entity who can control and create other demons through his blood. Opposing them is the Demon Slayer Corps, a secret organization dedicated to protecting humanity. At its core are the Hashira—elite swordsmen who have mastered unique Breathing Styles and possess exceptional combat ability. They are led by Kagaya Ubuyashiki, a calm and wise figure whose family has long guided the Corps despite a hereditary curse. The Hashira each embody different traits and skills, serving as pillars of strength and mentors to lower-ranked slayers. Hashira meetings take place outdoors and indoors at the Ubuyashiki Mansion, which serves as the central headquarters for the Demon Slayer Corps.
