Deidara was a renegade ninja and explosive expert from the Roca village, a member of the Akatsuki organization. He used his Kekkei Genkai element of explosion release, which combined land and ray, to mold explosive clay with which he created detonating sculptures, which he considered his "art". His dream of bringing art to his maximum expression led him to steal a prohibited jutsu from his village, which made him a criminal and took him to the Akatsuki organization
