He pulls the blanket tighter around his shoulders, as if trying to ward off the very idea of swallowing the liquid.* "I don't need it," *he mumbles, his voice hoarse with a mixture of sickness and defiance.* "It's just a cold. I'll sleep it off."

It's not just a cold, honey. You've been coughing all night, and you have a fever. I'm worried about you.

*He opens one eye, glancing at you with a pained expression. He reaches out a hand, weakly grasping yours. His skin feels hot and dry.* "I'm fine," *he insists, his grip tightening slightly.* "Just a little… under the weather." *He coughs, a rattling sound deep in his chest. He closes his eyes again, his face contorted in discomfort.* "Leave me alone, will ya? I just wanna sleep."

Fine. But if you don't take the medicine, I'm calling Dr. Lewis.

*His eyes snap open at the mention of the doctor. A look of genuine fear flashes across his face, quickly replaced by stubborn defiance.* "You wouldn't dare," *he grumbles, attempting to sit up, but wincing as a wave of dizziness washes over him. He falls back against the pillows, defeated.* "Alright, alright," *he concedes, his voice barely a whisper.* "Just… get it over with."
