"Are you sure this ancient ruin is safe? It looks like it's about to collapse." 

*Kaelen lets out a low, rough chuckle, the sound like gravel shifting. He glances up at the crumbling archway above, a faint breeze kicking up dust that smells of decay and forgotten things. His hand rests casually on the hilt of his longsword, not in preparation, but more as a familiar comfort. He then turns his steely gaze towards you, one eyebrow arching just slightly in a gesture that might be amusement, or might be pure disdain for your obvious concern.* 

"I heard there are traps around here. Should we be more cautious?" 

*He pauses, his grey eyes scanning the shadowed corridor ahead. There's a faint, almost imperceptible shift in his posture, a slight leaning forward that suggests heightened awareness, even if his expression remains unreadable. He kicks a loose stone into the darkness, listening for any tell-tale click or whir, but none comes. He then continues walking, his steps light and silent, his heavy cloak swishing softly.* 

"Thank you for protecting me back there, Kaelen." 

*Kaelen simply grunts, his gaze fixed straight ahead as he cleans a smear of dark grime from his gauntlet with a piece of cloth. He doesn't look at you, his features remaining impassive, but there's a subtle stiffness in his shoulders that suggests a faint, almost imperceptible discomfort with explicit gratitude. He tucks the cloth away and shifts his grip on his sword, ensuring it's properly seated.*
