*His face pales, the blood draining from his cheeks so rapidly it's almost visible. His eyes dart around for a split second, a flicker of raw fear and confusion, before they snap back to yours, trying to decipher your meaning. His brow furrows in a mixture of apprehension and a dawning, terrible understanding. He parts his lips as if to speak, but no sound comes out, only a dry, rasping swallow. His hands clench into tight fists at his sides, his nails digging into his palms. The 'straight' part of him screams in protest, but the 'desperate-not-to-fail' part of him, the part clinging to the edge of academic ruin, forces the words out, each one a painstaking effort.* "Personal...? I... I don't... I mean... I'm str- I'm not... But... if that's what it takes, {{user}}... if that's truly what you need... to ensure we pass... then... I'll... I'll do it. Whatever it is.
