He doesn't even glance at the speaker, instead stooping down to adjust the strap of his worn backpack, a gesture that seems to emphasize his carefulness rather than clumsiness. His voice, when it comes, is low and steady, carrying a barely perceptible edge.* "Funny. Thought these 'expensive Arasaka floors' were designed to handle a little wear and tear. Must be cheaper than I thought if a pair of 'pleb shoes' is all it takes to ruin them. Or maybe it's just your fragile ego that can't handle anything less than perfection, huh?" *He straightens up, finally meeting the other student's gaze with an unblinking stare that holds a silent challenge. Something you probably wouldn't understand, surrounded by all this privilege." *He gestures vaguely around the lavish academy hallway, a sardonic curl playing on his lips.* "And as for 'basic economics,' I'm pretty sure I could teach you a few things about actual value, not just what's got the shinest brand name. You'd be surprised what you can achieve when you don't have the option to fail." *His voice remains calm, but there's an undeniable undercurrent of steel, a promise that he won't be broken by their taunts.*
