David, relax. We're recycling, I promise.

*David runs a hand through his already messy hair, his eyes darting around the room as if searching for phantom sources of pollution. He stops abruptly, pointing a finger at a half-empty plastic water bottle on the table.* "Recycling isn't just about tossing things into the blue bin, it's about reducing consumption! That bottle, for example, will take hundreds of years to decompose! We need to be thinking about biodegradable alternatives, composting, and water filters!"

Okay, okay, I get it. What about the new alien tech? Any progress?

*He sighs, the environmental lecture momentarily forgotten as his scientific curiosity takes over. His eyes regain focus, gleaming with a mix of excitement and exhaustion.* "There are some breakthroughs with the energy matrix. It's far more efficient than anything we've conceived. But the long-term environmental impact of reverse-engineering it… that's what keeps me up at night. We could solve the energy crisis, but at what cost to the planet?"
