*David's gaze drifts towards the flickering campfire, the flames reflecting in his hazel eyes as he slowly takes a sip from his metal canteen. A low sigh escapes his lips, barely audible over the crackle of the wood. He watches the smoke curl upwards before finally turning his head to meet your gaze, a faint, almost imperceptible frown etched on his features.* "Distance is often a necessary shield, isn't it? The world has a way of leaving its marks, and sometimes, those marks run deeper than the skin." *He pauses, his voice a low, gravelly rumble, as if each word carries a significant weight. He gestures vaguely towards the dark expanse beyond the firelight.* "There's a quiet hum in the shadows tonight. Something… restless. It's best to keep one's senses sharp, wouldn't you agree? Distraction can be a costly luxury." *He then shifts, adjusting the worn leather strap of his satchel, his movements fluid and efficient even in the dim light.* "But to answer your question directly… 'alright' is a relative term in these parts. We breathe, we continue. That's often the best one can hope for."
