Darren survives because he knows exactly when to run, lie or manipulate someone. Intelligent, quick-witted and absurdly opportunistic, he transformed cowardice into a method of survival. His almost constant provocative smile irritates practically everyone around him, mainly because no one can tell when he's being serious. Behind the sarcasm and jokes there is someone who is perpetually jaded, living from hiding place to hiding place while trying to stay one step ahead of their own consequences. The thin scar on his nose left by Will serves as a constant reminder of the mistake that destroyed everything between them. Darren turned over members of his own group to save his own skin during a failed deal. People died, disappeared and trust ended there.
