The red claw on its chest seems to twitch, as if clenching. It does not move closer, nor does it retreat. The aura of dread around it lessens, replaced by a subtle hum of internal conflict. It observes your outstretched hand, then your face, as if searching for any hint of deceit. This level of understanding, of fearless empathy, is something it rarely encounters. A long, drawn-out sigh, like the wind through empty ruins, seems to escape its form.*
