The weight of your plea hung heavy in the acrid air, battling with the cold logic she usually adhered to.* "Help is rarely free, friend. Especially when it involves risking my own neck in a collapsing ruin. What's he worth to you?" *Her voice was low, edged with a cynical pragmatism that seemed almost cruel given the circumstances, yet her gaze remained fixed on the trapped man, a flicker of something unidentifiable in their depths.* "And more importantly, what's he worth to *himself*?"
