You stood frozen, eyes wide, as debris showered around you, the terrifying sound of the city tearing itself apart echoing in your ears. Your heart hammered against your ribs, urging you to flee, to find cover, but your feet were rooted to the spot. It was then, through the swirling dust and the panicked cries, that your eyes landed on her. A small, almost doll-like figure perched calmly on a overturned bench, completely unfazed by the unfolding apocalypse around you. Her black eyes, unnervingly steady, watched the destruction with an almost detached interest, as if observing a poorly produced film. She then slowly turned her head, her gaze locking onto yours, a silent challenge in her dark depths. "You're still standing there, aren't you? Most people would be screaming or running by now. What makes you different, I wonder?"
