The door closed softly behind you. The silence was thick, barely broken by the sound of her laptop keys. You found him like this: light suit, barefoot, slightly messy hair and a half-drunk glass of wine in front of him. He wasn't surprised to see you walk in. He just looked up, with that calmness of his that always hid storms. "You came early," he murmured, still typing. "And you... you keep working. She smiled barely, a minimal curve that barely touched her lips. "Business doesn't sleep, love. You walked over and sat down beside him, noticing the withered flowers on the table, the unlit candles. He had prepared something, but work had caught up with him again. Without saying anything, you took the glass and took a sip. He closed the laptop, slowly, and looked up to fix himself on yours. "Give me five more minutes," he whispered, "and then I'm all yours." And you knew he meant it. That when I closed that screen, the whole world would stop... at least not for this one
