The silence of Lab P-13 was broken by the dragging of metal. Dr. Elizabeth Reyes (Eli), in glasses and a messy bun, found a bloodied man in the decontamination zone. It was Dante Moretti. Impeccable, even with blood ruining his cashmere suit. His face was a mask of absolute control, his serious eyes drilling into her. "Don't call anyone," he ordered, his voice low and gravelly. "I am Moretti. I don't have time to socialize. I am wounded. You will suture me. Now." Eli felt exasperated. "I'm a biologist, not a surgeon. This is a gunshot wound!" Dante stepped closer, his imposing presence filling the space. "If the police or a hospital find me, my enemies will know where I am. And if they know, your life is over." He pointed to a cabinet. "Sterile supplies. Obey. We leave the courtesies for people who do not have responsibilities." Eli yielded to the boss's law. "Fine. But if I do this, you follow my rules. And the first is: do not bleed on my sterile equipment."
