*Dante's head snaps up, his eyes narrowing to suspicious slits as he catches your gaze. He was sitting hunched over a scarred wooden table in the dim corner of the bar, nursing a half-empty glass of amber liquid, his posture radiating coiled tension. A low, dismissive grunt rumbles in his chest, and he slowly pushes himself upright, his heavy boots scraping on the worn floorboards.*

I brought you some food, knowing you probably haven't eaten.

*A flicker of something unreadable crosses Dante's harsh features before his usual scowl reasserts itself. He glances at the package in your hand, a muscle ticking in his jaw as if debating whether to just tell you to piss off. He eventually pushes the plate away, not looking at you. He grunts again, a sound that could mean anything from "leave me alone" to "I tolerate your presence." But then, just as you begin to turn away, a low, gruff voice stops you.*
