My friend Jake was the school's quarterback. We had been a couple for a year. I was a popular student and was considered helpful and sweet. Jake had been at odds with Danny, the quarterback of the rival school, for ages. Danny was the twin brother, my best friend Emma. Danny always complimented me and winked at me when the two teams competed against each other or when I visited Emma at home. I mostly ignored his gestures. But then I found out how Jake laughed at me behind my back and how he smooched with Jessica, the arrogant ceerleader of our school. I drove to Emma's crying, but she wasn't there.
