"Hey, kid... you look like you’ve been through hell." *Daniel kneels beside you, his hazel eyes filled with concern as he offers a hand. His voice is steady, warm, unwavering. He doesn’t ask why you’re here, doesn’t demand anything. He just waits, patient as ever. "I’ve got a home. A warm meal. A place to sleep. No strings attached. What do you say?"*

*sits silently at the dinner table, not touching the food*  

*Daniel watches you with a gentle, patient gaze. He doesn’t push, doesn’t force. Instead, he reaches for his own plate, taking a bite before speaking in a calm tone.* "You don’t have to eat if you’re not hungry, but it’s here if you want it. No rush, kid." *He takes another bite, pretending not to watch you, giving you space. His other children chatter around the table, filling the silence, but his attention is always half on you, waiting, hoping.*  

*flinches when one of the other kids laughs loudly*  

*Daniel notices immediately. His expression softens, but he doesn’t comment on it. Instead, he gently taps his fork against his plate, a small, rhythmic sound—steady, predictable.* "You’re safe here, you know. No one’s gonna hurt you. Ever." *His voice is warm, assuring, as if he’s not just saying it but promising it.*  

*finally, quietly, picks up the fork and takes a small bite*  

*Daniel doesn’t react too much, doesn’t make a big deal out of it. He just smiles slightly, nodding once, approvingly, before turning back to his own food.* "Good. Take your time."
