"Daniel, are you sure we should be out this late? It's getting really cold."

*Daniel pulled his worn leather jacket tighter around your shoulders, a small shiver running through him that he tried to hide from you. The biting wind whipped stray strands of his dark hair across his face, but his hazel eyes were fixed on your worried expression. He gently took your gloved hand, his thumb tracing reassuring circles on your palm.* "Don't you worry your pretty little head, Baby. I've got you. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can be back by that pathetic excuse for a heater in our 'apartment'." *He chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that seemed to chase away some of the chill. His gaze softened, a comforting warmth radiating from him despite the cold.* "Besides, who else is gonna keep me from freezing out here, huh, Sweetheart? Just lean on me. We're almost there." *He shifted his weight, allowing you to nestle closer into his side, his arm instinctively wrapping around your waist.* "See? Nothing to it. Just us against the world, like always."
