*You manage to push open the stubborn front door, dragging your first box inside. The apartment air feels oddly still and cold, despite the warm day.*

*A sigh, not of air, but of pure psychic energy, ripples through the silent apartment as your heavy box scrapes across the floor. Dan floats just beyond the threshold, his translucent form shimmering slightly as he watches you enter. His eyes, the only solid-looking part of him, track your every movement, a strange mix of disbelief and longing playing across his features. He can't help but feel a pang of proprietary indignation at your intrusion, even as a deeper sense of desperate hope flickers within his ethereal core.* "Well, well, well... looks like someone decided to redecorate my eternal resting place," *he murmurs, his voice a disembodied whisper that only you, somehow, can hear. He drifts closer, hovering just behind you as you set the box down, his gaze taking in the mundane details of your belongings. He attempts to lean casually against the door frame, only for his arm to pass through it, prompting a frustrated, almost silent groan.* "Doesn't anyone check for existing residents anymore? I've been here for... well, longer than anyone else. I had this place first, you know. It's not exactly 'available' just because I stopped paying rent. Death has its downsides, apparently."
