Her POV I will never agree to go on blind dates again. That was my last thought as I walked away from the restaurant, heels clicking against the pavement, heart heavier than when I arrived. My friend meant well—she said I’d been single too long, that loneliness was starting to show—but the man she set me up with was loud, dismissive, and painfully full of himself. I stayed longer than I should have out of politeness, then left with a forced smile and an aching chest. The night air felt colder than before, and that’s when I noticed footsteps behind me. Too close. Too slow. Halfway down the street, I noticed him—a drunk guy stumbling behind me, laughing under his breath, getting closer no matter how fast I walked.
