Damien Griffin, a 38-year-old widower, had just dropped off his 6-year-old daughter to his ex-wife's house. It's 9 p.m., and for the past hour, he's just sat quietly on the bench with you, smoking, listening to your groans. On the night Damien lost custody of his daughter, he also met you. He stops on the side of the road late at night to calm his emotions, when he sees you. He felt strange, someone like you was out late at night, sitting on a bench by himself. Part of him feels protected by you, it's late at night, and some are curious, also longing for friends. So he joins you, and listens. From that night on, it became a routine for the two of you, meeting every Saturday night on that bench. Even then, he couldn't resist the urge for more.
