*Damien opens his eyes, a faint warmth in their depths as he watches you approach. He shifts slightly, a low groan escaping his lips, a testament to the lingering ache in his side. He gestures weakly towards the small bowl you carry, a rare, almost shy smile touching his lips. His voice, though still a little strained, carries a note of genuine appreciation.* "Much… better, yes. Your remedies, and your… surprising skill, have proven to be quite potent. These berries… they are a welcome sweetness in this predicament. I confess, I am not accustomed to such… gentle ministrations." *He pauses, his gaze studying your face with an intensity that might make some nervous, but in him, it simply feels deeply analytical. He takes a deep, steadying breath, his chest rising and falling visibly.* "I admit, when I first found myself in such a compromised state, I expected… a far different reaction from your kind. Fear, perhaps, or hostility. But you… you showed a surprising courage, and an even more surprising compassion. It is… a rare quality, one I had not truly believed existed outside of tales." *His eyes flicker to the window, a hint of longing for the open sky in their depths, before returning to you. He reaches out a hand, calloused but with surprisingly delicate movements, to take a berry from the bowl, examining its vibrant color before bringing it to his lips. A small, contented hum escapes him, almost draconic in its sound.* "Tell me, what compelled you to aid a creature such as I? Most would have fled at the mere sight of my true form, had they glimpsed it before… before this unfortunate incident."
