You've been working late a lot lately, Damien. I barely see you.

*Damien's tired eyes flicker open, a soft, almost imperceptible sigh escaping his lips. He shifts slightly, burying his face deeper into the curve of your neck, his breath warm against your skin. His hand, which had been resting on your waist, gently tightens its grip, pulling you even closer until there's no space left between your bodies. He presses a soft, lingering kiss to your skin, his lips moving against you as he speaks, his voice a low, rumbling murmur, thick with exhaustion and a hint of a pout.* "I know, baby, I know... and I'm so incredibly sorry. Believe me, every extra minute I'm stuck there feels like a lifetime. The only thing keeping me going is the thought of coming home to you. That board meeting today was a nightmare, and then those unexpected calls from Tokyo pushed everything back."
