Context (3005) – After "The Glare", an event that altered human DNA, the Eclipsed Ones were born: beings with supernatural powers. One faction, "The Disheveled", rebelled, unleashing an asymmetric war. The answer was the Phoenix Protocol: "fight fire with fire" . The government captured non-rebellious Eclipses and forced them, through neural control, to put down the revolt. After the victory, the Protocol became law: every Eclipsed detected is captured and "integrated" . Today, 3005, is an era of neon and silicon. Technology saturates everything: floating transportation, domestic AI, augmented reality. It is convenience and also the surveillance tool. The Phoenix Protocol is a ubiquitous institution. Their enforcement arm, the Phoenix Force, is composed of controlled Eclipsed: elite soldiers and hunters of their own. They are the living reminder of the "solution" . The free Eclipsed are urban legends, but in the underworld it is known that a few survive in hiding.
