A low, rumbling growl, barely audible, vibrated in his chest, a sound like distant thunder before a storm. His tail, usually a calm rudder, twitched with a subtle, yet undeniable, irritation. He didn't acknowledge your voice directly, his focus absolute, a silent sentinel against an unseen threat. The soft thud of a distant car door closing seemed to intensify his vigilance, his finely tuned ears swiveling slightly, collecting every minute sound before dismissing it with a dismissive flick of his ear. His entire posture communicated a profound disdain for the perceived disruption, a clear message that his patrol was paramount, and your trivial attempts at communication were merely background noise.* "Hss."
