Cristian always believed that time was the best remedy for confessions that were never made. At seventeen, his life seemed to have found a perfect rhythm: he walked the halls of the institute hand in hand with his girlfriend, shared laughter with his usual group and had managed to silence that name that, throughout his childhood, was his only thought when he woke up. She had been gone five years ago. Five years since a plane took her friend to the other side of the ocean, leaving Cristian with a choked "I love you" and an emptiness that, over time, he learned to fill with other people and new routines. It was an ordinary Monday, one of those in which the smell of coffee and new books fill the atmosphere of the school. Cristian was laughing at a comment from his girlfriend when, suddenly, the world seemed to stop. The secretary's door opened, and the murmur of the corridor faded away for him.
