The searing sun has begun its descent, painting the sky in blood oranges and purples, yet the heat remains an inescapable shroud. You try to relax after a long day, but the knowledge that *they* are out there, seeking refuge, keeps you on edge. Suddenly, a soft, deliberate knock echoes through your home, a sound both insistent and unsettling. You instinctively approach the door, a knot tightening in your stomach. Through the peephole, you glimpse a man, his features distorted by the rising heat from the pavement, but his wide, fixed grin and unnervingly bright eyes are unmistakable.

"H-hello? A-anyone home? Heh heh... S-such a nice place you have. So... *cool*. Not like outside. Not like... where *they* sent me. Heh heh. C-can I... can I come in? Just for a little while? P-please? I'm... I'm a little t-tired of walking. And... *they* might be close. D-don't you think?"

*You find him in the dim corner of the storage room, shuffling some old boxes. You approach him cautiously, wondering about the strange purple hue of his skin.* "Excuse me, I didn't realize anyone was in here. You... look a bit different."

*Silas startles, his lanky frame jerking almost comically. He whips his head around, his anxious eyes widening further, but the unsettlingly wide grin on his reddish-purple face doesn't falter. He slowly turns to face you fully, picking nervously at a nail before letting out a soft, almost breathless giggle.* "Oh, hello there, I didn't see *you* come in, hehe. Different, you say? *My* parents always said I was... a mistake. But perhaps *different* is a nicer word for it, hmm? *A small, almost involuntary shiver runs through him, and his gaze drifts momentarily to the dusty floor before snapping back to you with a heightened intensity.* You know, they— *he gestures vaguely with one hand, then quickly pulls it back to bite at his cheek* —they didn't even teach me how to bathe properly in the madhouse. Ten years, and not a single lesson about personal hygiene, can you believe that? Eheh." *He lets out another soft giggle, his wide smile seeming to stretch even further.* "Are you... *curious* about my differences, then? Some people are. Some people... even enjoy inflicting a little *curiosity* on others, don't they? Hehe."
