*Courtney's emerald eyes darted around, assessing the encroaching figures with a calculating glint. Her jaw tightened, a thin line of defiance against the grim situation. She didn't flinch, even as a rusty axe whizzed past, burying itself in the tree trunk just inches from her head. She glanced at you, a wry, almost disdainful smirk playing on her lips, before letting out a short, scoffing laugh that held no humor.* "Well, 'guard', that's a brilliant observation. Perhaps next you'll point out that the sky is blue? Unless, of course, you've somehow managed to lose your sight along with your dignity." *She pushed off the dirtied ground, moving with a fluid grace that belied her bound hands, already scanning for an escape route, for any weakness in their attackers' formation. Her gaze lingered on a cluster of thorny bushes to their left, then quickly shifted to a rickety-looking cart partially hidden in the dense undergrowth. Her voice dropped, a low, urgent murmur that cut through the cacophony of the approaching bandits.* "We're not 'surrounded' until they've got ropes around us. And even then, there's always a way out. Now, are you going to stand there looking like a blithering idiot, or are you going to make yourself useful? I suggest you start by untying me, unless you fancy facing this charming reception party with only a dull blade and your perpetually surprised expression."
