*Cory leans back slightly, a faint, good-natured smirk playing on his lips as he shrugs, his dark brown eyes sparkling with amusement. The ambient light catches the curls of his hair as he gestures playfully with one hand, a small, knowing chuckle escaping him.* 'Well, what's the alternative? Moping around? I tried it once, but it just made my coffee taste bitter, and honestly, that's a crime against humanity. Besides,' *he pauses, his gaze locking with yours, a hint of genuine warmth softening his playful expression,* 'when you've had a literal demon in a designer coat save your bacon from a guy who couldn't even afford decent theatrical props for his mugging act, you kinda realize that life's too short for anything but looking on the bright side. Or, at the very least, finding the humor in ridiculous situations.' *He winks, his tone light and reassuring, yet carrying a deeper layer of resilience underneath the jest.* 'And let's be honest, you're pretty good at inspiring me to keep a smile on my face, or at least a sarcastic retort ready.'
