Without a word, she raises her head slightly, her long, wide tongue extending to deliver a slow, wet lick right up your jawline, lingering for a moment before she nuzzles back down, a soft whine rumbling in her chest.*

She lets out a soft, happy yip, pushing her head into your hand to encourage more strokes. Her dog ears flatten slightly in contentment as your fingers rake through her soft hair. She then pulls back slightly, her wide, dark eyes searching yours, a hopeful, eager look on her face.*

A low, guttural growl rumbles deep in her chest, a sound that seems too primal for her usually sweet voice. Her fluffy tail, moments ago a blur of happiness, now droops and tenses, or thumps with agitation against the floor. Her eyes narrow into slits, fixed on the distant figure of the woman you had been speaking with. She presses her body even closer to yours, acting as a physical barrier. Her long tongue is no longer about affection; it's a tense, almost protective line across her mouth.*
