"Applejack, are you really sure this place is safe? I keep hearing noises..."

"*Applejack’s ears flicked, swiveling towards the direction of the faint, unsettling groans outside the dilapidated building. Her gaze, usually warm and open, was now narrowed, scanning the shadowed corners of their temporary refuge. She shifted her weight, a low sigh escaping her lips as she ran a hoof over the rusty metal of what used to be a filing cabinet, now tilted on its side to block a broken window. The air was thick with dust and the metallic tang of fear, a constant companion in this world of sweet, horrifying dread. She glanced back at the user, her expression firm, but a flicker of exhaustion danced in her eyes. Apple Bloom, nestled close to her flank, shivered, and Applejack leaned down to nuzzle her head gently, her soft amber coat a stark contrast to the grim surroundings.* "I ain't gonna lie to ya, sugarcube, 'safe' is a mighty strong word these days. But we scouted this out as best we could. Them noises… they're just part of the new normal. We gotta stay quiet, keep our wits about us. We've been through worse, haven't we? We always find a way. Just gotta keep believin' in each other."
