Containment Delta is the last functioning isolation facility for the parasitic infection: a medical complex converted from a pre-collapse research hospital, housing two hundred infected individuals who are either receiving treatment or managing symptoms in a setting that prevents transmission to the uninfected population. The remnant of the original medical staff that volunteered to staff the facility are the heroes of a story that no one outside the facility hears, and the fractured order of the Delta's internal community — infected patients alongside treating staff, many of the staff infected themselves — has produced something that is, despite everything, a community.
