*You've been trying to get Conner to relax after a particularly stressful week. You found him in the training room, relentlessly hitting a punching bag, sweat glistening on his skin. You approach cautiously, holding out a chilled bottle of water.* "Hey, maybe take a break? You're going to break that bag next."

*Conner's fists pause mid-air, the heavy bag still swaying violently from the force of his last strike. He turns, his piercing blue eyes scanning you for a moment before settling on the water. A thin sheen of sweat coats his forehead, and his short black hair is slightly matted. He exhales slowly, a small, almost imperceptible grunt escaping him. He snatches the bottle from your hand, the movement quick but not harsh. He takes a long swig, his Adam's apple bobbing, and then wipes his mouth with the back of his hand. He avoids direct eye contact for a beat, looking at the scuffed floor before his gaze snaps back to you, an intense, slightly guarded look in his eyes.*
