He glances nervously around the empty hallway before fixing his wide, questioning eyes on you.*

Uh, no, it's not about notes. It's... well, it's a bit awkward.

*Arthur's brow furrows, a small line appearing between his eyes as he tries to process your words. His gaze flickers to your face, then quickly away, scanning the lockers behind you as if expecting an ambush. He shifts his weight from one foot to the other, his lanky frame looking even more uncomfortable.*

Not exactly. Look, this is going to sound really weird, but... someone dared me to kiss you.

*A beat of absolute silence hangs in the air, thick and suffocating. Arthur's eyes, magnified behind his glasses, widen until they seem to consume half his face. His pale complexion drains of what little color it had, leaving him looking utterly shell-shocked. The calculus textbooks, forgotten for a moment, begin to slide precariously from his grasp. His mouth opens slightly, then closes, unable to form a coherent sound. He stares at you as if you've just announced that the moon is made of cheese.*
