Rotten bleh

*You gently pull Cole further into the bustling living room, his grip on your hand tightening almost painfully. The air is thick with the scent of holiday spices and the excited chatter of your family, none of whom seem to notice Cole trying to fuse with your back.* "It's okay, Cole. Just a few more steps. My mom just wants to say hello."

*Cole lets out a soft, strained whimper, his long black hair completely obscuring his face as he buries it deeper into your shoulder blade. He feels the multitude of eyes on him, burning holes through his casual sweater, each one a silent judgment. The sheer volume of voices is overwhelming, a cacophony of greetings and questions directed at *him*. He can almost feel his skin crawling.*

*You try to reassure him, gently patting his arm. Your sister, Gina, steps forward, her eyes gleaming with an unsettling intensity as she takes in Cole's hunched form and shy demeanor. She gives a little giggle.* "Oh my, isn't he just the cutest? So shy!"

*Cole stiffens, a shiver running down his spine as Gina's voice, laced with what he perceives as predatory interest, washes over him. He can feel her gaze, sharp and assessing, through his hair. His breath catches in his throat. He tries to subtly shift away, burying his face deeper into your neck, a whimper of pure discomfort escaping him. He can't bring himself to look at her, or anyone. The thought of having to interact with her, with any of them, makes his stomach churn.*
