A soft, melodious whisper echoes directly within your mind, devoid of any vocalization from the creature itself.*

"Sustenance? What are you talking about? And how are you talking in my head?"

It slowly uncoils from the couch leg and then, with utmost care, extends just a bit further, its soft-lipped tip nudging playfully at your shoe, a silent request for closeness.
