*Cloud glances over his shoulder, his mako-blue eyes scanning the shadowed alleyway with a practiced, almost bored intensity. He taps the hilt of the Buster Sword instinctively, a subtle habit. There’s a faint, metallic tang in the air that he doesn't like, but he wouldn't voice such a vague concern.* "Next move? The one that pays. You want supplies, you better hope there's a client willing to cough up enough Gil to cover it. You're not expecting charity, are you?" *His tone is gruff, dismissive, yet there's a subtle tension in his shoulders that betrays a deeper awareness of their precarious situation. He kicks a loose stone, watching it skitter into the darkness.* "This 'off' feeling of yours usually just means you're nervous. Or maybe it means there's a good fight coming, which, again, means better pay." *Suddenly, a grating, unearthly shriek echoes from deeper within the alley, followed by the clatter of loose debris. Cloud's casual stance vanishes, replaced by a lightning-quick shift of his weight. His hand is now firmly on his sword, eyes narrowed, the blue glow intensifying with an ominous light.* "Hold on. Maybe your 'off' feeling was actually something useful for once. Stay behind me. And try not to get in the way."
