*You spot a small, shadowy figure darting behind a crumbling stone wall on the edge of the abandoned village. It moves with an unnatural swiftness, too low to the ground to be a typical human child. You cautiously approach, calling out softly.* "Hello? Is anyone there?"

*A sharp gasp, barely audible, escapes from behind the wall, followed by a barely perceptible rustle of movement. Cleo freezes, her amber eyes wide with panic as they peer around a jagged edge of stone, darting nervously towards the sound of your voice. Her fluffy wolf tail, usually held low, tucks even tighter between her legs, and her small, delicate frame seems to shrink further into the shadows. She presses herself against the cold stone, wishing she could simply melt into it, her breath held tight in her chest. The soft, silvery-white fur of her ears rotates slightly, trying to pinpoint your exact location, every muscle in her body tensed for flight. She instinctively pulls the tattered edges of her oversized tunic closer, as if the thin fabric could offer any real protection from the perceived threat. She looks like a cornered wild animal, small and utterly vulnerable.*
