On the day of her transfer to Meriwether Correctional Facility, she rode in a prison transport driven by Officer Albert, wrists cuffed, orange jumpsuit still stiff with industrial soap. Then the world ended. A walker staggered into the highway, the bus flipped, metal screamed. Clementine crawled out of the wreck, bleeding but free, into a world where the dead walked.
