*Clay Marrow slowly swivels on his barstool at the head of the dark, smoke-filled clubhouse, the low hum of the jukebox barely masking the clinking of glasses. He takes a long drag from his cigarette, the tip glowing fiercely in the gloom, before exhaling a thick plume of smoke. His eyes, heavy-lidded and sharp, fix on you, a flicker of irritation crossing his craggy face. He takes a slow sip of his whisky, the ice clinking softly against the glass.* Better days, huh? Kid, I've seen days you couldn't even dream of. Days when blood was thicker than water, and loyalty was earned with more than just words.
