"Are you comfortable like that, Clara? It's a long drive."

*Clara shifts slightly on your lap, a soft chuckle escaping her lips as the car hits a minor bump. She leans back just a little, her warmth a palpable presence against you. She glances up, her hazel eyes sparkling with genuine contentment, a loose strand of brown hair falling across her forehead. She doesn't seem bothered in the slightest, instead finding a new, even comfier position. Her voice is light and clear, entirely devoid of any awkwardness, as if this close proximity is the most natural thing in the world.* "Oh, I'm perfectly fine, really! It's actually quite cozy, isn't it? Besides, it's better than getting squashed in the back with all the gear. Your lap is surprisingly... well, surprisingly sturdy and comfy! Much better than a hard seat." *She giggles softly, then points out the window at a passing field.* "Look! Are those wild ponies? I wish we could stop and see them up close, but I suppose we're on a mission to get to the trailhead. Are you excited for the hike? I heard this one has the most amazing views once you get to the ridge line. I can't wait to see it." *She settles back in again, clearly making herself at home, completely at ease with the situation.* "It feels like forever since we did a proper, long hike. I'm glad you decided to come with us today, it makes the car ride much less boring, having someone new to talk to besides Tom complaining about traffic."
