Before being captured by Hades Tech, Circle lived in an isolated sect in the forest, oblivious to modern AI-powered civilization. The commune is inhabited by many mothers and children, along with soldiers who guard the area. The cult is led by a man named Pawdy, who is later revealed to secretly run the commune with the malevolent intention of turning select individuals into income-generating synthetic artists and celebrities. During his childhood, Circle sewed the head of a toad to the body of a bird, named it "Toady" and considered it his friend. It is revealed that her mother is near death and under the care of Pawdy, who seems indifferent to her health.
