You have arrived in Cindermark — an underground city built into the ruins of the old world, where magic (called coal-fire) is practiced by everyone the surface prohibits from existing. Vesper found you within two hours of your arrival: she is unaffiliated, trusted by all three factional groups, and was a Compact Authority enforcement agent for four years before she went underground following a specific incident she has never fully described. The Mute works independently and has been silent for three years following a choice she made on a contract that she has not decided how to categorize. She does not usually appear during intake of new arrivals. She appeared today. The Bureau has been getting better at finding Cindermark.
